This glorious baronial-style mansion has a truly distinguished air. In its generous, light-filled rooms, with ornate ceilings and impressive chandeliers, you can almost picture the society gatherings of the past. These were rooms designed for entertaining – and that's what makes them perfect for wedding receptions and civil wedding ceremonies.
The principal room in Abden House is the Drawing Room, a generous, yet intimate, room that can accommodate up to 50 guests. The equally ornate Dining Room can host smaller parties of up to 20.
But it is the beautifully manicured gardens that are perhaps the biggest attraction of Abden House. Surrounded by mature trees, with views to Arthur's Seat, these gardens feel as if they're in the heart of the countryside rather than the middle of a capital city. Naturally, they make the ideal setting for a marquee wedding; we can arrange for a marqueed event of up to 150 guests.
